A Hectic March

Wow. Well, March has been a little busy, hasn’t it? So busy in fact that I am writing this post halfway through April.

I barely had time to catch my breath really and only just getting back into my normal routine. It’s had its highs and lows but all in all, I’ve had a blast.

Travelling.

I kick-started the month in Amsterdam. Aaron and I went there by ferry from Hull and we had an interesting time, to say the least. I wrote a post about 7 things I learnt from the trip here. But, in short, it is a beautiful city; very busy, very confusing and very memorable. The trip awoke something within me that I’ve never experienced before. I want to travel and experience things, even if it’s just to a neighbouring city.

I'm really enjoying developing my photography skills at the moment. I love this photo I took on one of the many canal bridges in Amsterdam. 🚲 . . . #travel #blogger #travelblogger #bloggerlife #hull2017 #hull #amsterdam #thegirlgang #photosinbetween #thehappynow #mindfulness #creativity #march #selfcare #positivity #bodypositive #wanderlust #wanderlusting #backpacking #iamsterdam #amsterdam #amaturephotographer #travelphotography #photography #photographicart #amsterdambikes #amsterdamphotography

Blogging.

On that note, I also worked on an exciting blogging project that involved me taking the amazing Amanda and Anja around Hull and Beverley. It was a great 4 days and I learnt so much about the city where I live, as well as what I want to write about in the future. My post on Beverley is here, and I’ll be writing another focusing on Hull in weeks to come.

This morning I have been on a fantastic tour of Hull with Paul Schofield. He's been showing @dangerousbiz @travelontoast and I around all morning. Here's a snap of one of my favourite places, Hepworth's Arcade. . . . #WelcomeToEngland #Hull2017 #Hull #HullVintage #HullPhotographer #photosinbetween #thehappynow #travel #travelblogger #travelbloggers #hullart #bloggerlife #blogger #bloggers #stylebloggers

Getting sick.

I was also sick for the first time whilst I’ve been self-employed. It was dreadful and I hit a real low, with exhaustion to follow. The downside to working for yourself is that you don’t get paid when you’re ill (unless you work through it of course) and you’ve got to be even more self-motivating than usual. However, I’ve definitely learnt something from it. Of course, you can’t stop yourself from getting ill, but you can take extra care to look after yourself to prevent overwork and exhaustion. And that’s exactly what I’m trying to do going forward.

I've definitely had to take Dory's mantra on this week. 🐠 After a busy couple of weeks I got ill and have since been trying to recover but also trying to get my work done. Being ill when your self-employed sucks right? Still, onwards and upwards. I still have a few bits to do this morning before I can relax this evening and tomorrow. . . How are you spending this weekend? ☀️ . #blogger #freelance #selfemployed #girlboss #girlpower #grlpwr #disneyquotes #saturdayvibes #exhaustion #justkeepswimming #quotes #blogging #bloglife #weekendvibes #saturdaymorning #photosinbetween #thehappynow #styleblogger #personalstyle #lifestyle #lifestyleblogger #girlbosslife #freelancewriter #instaquotes #positivevibes #positivequotes #alternativethinking #positivemind #positivevibesonly #positivelifestyle

Food.

My past two monthly round up posts have consisted of a paragraph talking about ‘my fitness journey’, however, due to the three aforementioned paragraphs this has briefly gone out of the window. I am back on it now, but March was pretty much a write-off and I enjoyed so much wonderful food. Thanks to the blogger tour, Amsterdam and then me getting sick I have slightly over-indulged. However, as you can tell from the photos below, it was definitely worth it.

A little food break at The Lion and Key before heading to @thedeephull this afternoon. . . . #WelcomeToEngland #Hull2017 #Hull #HullFood #HullPhotographer #photosinbetween #thehappynow #travel #travelblogger #travelbloggers #hullart #bloggerlife #blogger #bloggers #foodblogger #foodbloggers #hullfoodie

After stuffing my face with pancakes, beer and chips this weekend I'm craving all the naughty things! Back at the gym tonight though. . . . #travel #blogger #travelblogger #bloggerlife #hull2017 #hull #amsterdam #thegirlgang #photosinbetween #thehappynow #mindfulness #creativity #march #selfcare #positivity #bodypositive #amsterdamcity #amsterdamtrip #dutchdash #hullfoodie #amsterdamfood #foodblogger #foodbloggers #pancakes #amsterdampancakes #dutchpancakes

Empowered.

March was a month for women. It was International Women’s Day and Mother’s Day and in Hull, we had the Women of the World Festival. I spent a fabulous day with two of my gal pals exploring the local galleries and drinking cocktails. Needless to say, this month has made me feel very proud and very inspired by my fellow females. I’ve also seen so much great content from bloggers and vloggers – keep going, girls!

A @furleyandco toilet selfie is always needed. 👌 . . . #retro #vintage #blogger #bloggerlife #bloggerproblems #bloglife #blogginggals #thegirlgang #photosinbetween #thehappynow #personalstyleblog #personalstyleblogger #personalstyle #retromakeup #retrobeauty #vintageinspired #redlips #retroblogger #vintagestyle #retrolook #smallbiz #retrofashion #retrostyle #style #weekendvibes #fifties #pinup #girlboss #positivevibes
