Classic Style to Fit All with Jacamo*

Whilst I’d love to say that my boyfriend shares my passion for flamboyant fashions from the past, Aaron prefers more of a classic, contemporary look. His wardrobe mainly consists of denim jeans, plain t-shirts, checked flannels and the odd polo shirt or two.

I don’t think we’re going to catch him in a funky pineapple print blazer anytime soon!

Still, whilst his style may seem simple, it can still be quite difficult to find the perfect fit.

We often focus on how women struggle with sizes and fashions, but I think it can be equally as testing for all genders.

Jacamo kindly got in touch and asked me if I had a male friend who would be interested in sampling some of their clothes. Aaron had heard about the online retailer but had never purchased anything, so he was intrigued to find out more.

I used to think that Jacamo was a sort of ‘plus size brand for men’, but I could not have been further from the truth. They stock sizes from a small to 5XL, so their clothes really do fit a wide range of individuals, whether you’re big, small, short or tall (or pineapple shaped).

Jacamo has their own brand, as well as selling clothing from well-known designers such as Nike, Vans, Original Penguin, Lambretta and Lacoste.

Aaron picked out the Firetrap Linus Polo in Denim and a pair of French Connection New James Jeans.

The polo shirt is admittedly a little big on Aaron, so we’d recommend sizing down for this particular brand. He opted for a large and it fits comfortably around the chest, however, the shirt is quite long. This is easily fixed by popping a jacket over the top or tucking the shirt in loosely to a pair of jeans.

“If you’re on the edge between a medium and a large, like me, I’d say opt for a medium in this particular shirt,” Aaron tells me, “Although, I guess it all depends on your height and length of your torso.”

Meanwhile, the Frech Connection jeans fit true to size.

“I picked the updated James Jean as French Connection is a brand that I recognise and trust,” says Aaron.

A straight-fit jean is a popular choice for many men nowadays. The versatile and relaxed cut of the jeans is a timeless style that won’t be going out of fashion anytime soon.  In the meantime, the dark washed indigo colour brings something original to the outfit.

Both pieces are of excellent quality. The polo shirt is made from cotton, meaning that it will be cool in the summer, whilst keeping you warm in the chillier months under s jacket.

It was the colour that first drew Aaron to the shirt. The petrol blue shirt with black accents goes well with his River Island Harrington-style jacket.

Founded in 1993, Firetrap is a London brand, which takes inspiration from the capital’s industrial and progressive spirit. This is definitely shown in the practical style of the two-pocket polo shirt.

Overall, the outfit is ideal for the everyday guy who wants to express his style in a simplistic way. Aaron will definitely be having a browse on the Jacamo website when he next needs to update his wardrobe.

You can find more menswear on the Jacamo website. I did receive these items for free but all opinions are my own, please read my disclaimer for more information.
