My Sunday Routine: How to Improve your Week

A Sunday well spent brings a week of content. This is perhaps one of my favourite quotes, because it’s so true!

Although I love vegging out on a Sunday, it’s also good to get a few of those pesky chores done before the new working week starts. Here are some things I do on a Sunday to make my week run a little more smoothly.

Pop a wash on.

Get your washing done for the week ahead. I try to put a cycle on first thing when I get up on a Sunday morning so that I can get it out to dry in time for Monday. You’ll thank yourself later in the week when your clothes are hung up in your wardrobe, clean instead of crumbled up in your wash basket.

Tidy your space.

Clearing your space can really help if you want to start the week off right. I am definitely the type of person that is affected by my environment, so waking up on Monday morning with my house a mess will make a negative impact on how my day goes. Have a hoover round, put stuff away in the right places and you’ll feel so much better for it in the week.

Think about the week ahead.

No one wants to start thinking about work on a Sunday, but I find that I end up doing it anyway. Take 10 minutes out of the day to sit down and make a list of all your errands, to dos and also a food shopping list. Getting stuff down on paper really helps to clear my head and enjoy the rest of my Sunday.

Have a pampering session.

I don’t know about you, but I personally love having a nice bath/shower and using all of my favourite scrubs, lotions and potions on a Sunday night. It allows me to relax and be refreshed for the new week.

Get an early night.

It might be tempting to stay up late to cherish the remaining hours of the weekend, but you know full well that an early night will benefit you tomorrow morning. After my mini-pampering session, I try to get to bed early so I’m not a zombie on Monday morning.

What do you do on a Sunday? Let me know in the comments or tweet me @retroandthrift.

  1. I was in the mist of sending out resumes for content writing gigs and upon checking my email read your article. It was refreshing and I think (I’ll go put a load of laundry in) as well! Thank you for your refreshing words 🙂 Great read!
