Hull Fashion Week

I've been so busy with deadlines this week I almost forgot to post about Hull Fashion Week. I have been invited to blog for the Finale Show this Saturday! I'm super excited for it and will hopefully be able to take some pictures and do a post about it on here too! Throughout the week there are all sorts of events from fashion shows, workshops and boutiques and most of the events are free. I'm going to try to pop into a few this week however, this week is hectic with essays.

Seaton Beach and Hartlepool Marina

A few of my posts have been travel related recently and I apologise if this is boring or annoying but it being Easter I have had more opportunities to visit places.

My boyfriend (let's call him Aaron from now) comes from Hartlepool so we went up to his house during the Easter break. Despite him saying that there's nothing to do we managed to have a lovely day out at Seaton and also visited the Marina. I personally am a child and love the seaside so getting an ice cream and visiting the arcades was the perfect day for me.

Personal Post - Happiness, Confidence and Anxiety

So I haven't done a personal post in a while and I thought I'd update you on a few things to do with me. Last year at this time I wouldn't have dreamed to be where I am today. I was full of self-doubt, had no self confidence in any aspect of myself and was generally struggling with stress, low moods and anxiety.

I have managed to go to University, move away from home, make friends, go to clubs, and just generally be more confident in my self in my appearance, in who I am and my abilities. These achievements might be minor to you but to me they are major steps. I quit my part-time job as that was pulling me away from my studies and was too far away and the shop I worked for in my home town was generally pulling my self confidence down as well as they generally did not give a sh*t about anyone who didn't plan to stay on at the company (sorry but needed to be said). I passed my first semester with an overall 2:1 and so far I've achieved 1sts in 2 of my essays. I'm currently in my second semester doing OKAY but I do feel I could push myself more for these final exams before next year. I've made the greatest friends and even managed a relationship (6 months - shock horror) but most of all realise that I am a normal person who can speak to people and not be shy and awkward- I've even managed a few phone calls. I've gone out into clubs, done burlesque classes and applied for jobs and volunteering work. Again, minor achievements for most people but major achievements for me personally.

I'm really determined to make this blog successful, after 2 years of being a secret beauty blogger I "came out" to the people I know by making a Facebook page for it (click here if you haven't already liked it) and inviting even family members to like and to read. Just through having more confidence and talking with other Bloggers (something I also never would have dreamed of) I've met some lovely people the past few months and founds some great blogs. I have even been invited to blog at Hull Fashion Week which is very exciting, I'll probably do a blog post on its own about that one!

I have decided to lose some weight and generally feel healthier for real this time (now I've published it to the world I'm going to have to). I've always had a love-hate relationship with my weight but now I think is the time to change my lifestyle and just generally feel better and healthier. I don't want to be a size 6 - I know that wont happen - I'd just like to feel more energetic and confident! Again, I will perhaps do a blog post on that one.

Overall I feel excited about the future and also proud of myself which is something I never did the past few years of my life. Sorry for the deep post - it wasn't meant to be!

1960's Revival | The Shift Dress

As I've been studying a lot to do with the 1960's I've naturally been really loving 60's fashion. It's also proving to be more and more popular on the high-street so I picked out some gorgeous shift dresses that would be great for spring/summer!

MINT GREEN DAISY DRESS // PINK DAISY DRESS // BLUE DAISY DRESS // NEON SHIFT DRESS // LILAC LACE SHIFT DRESS

I just realised a lot of these dresses are daisy themed - I apologise, I am also loving the daisy trend at the moment!

The Beamish Museum: Quick review and photos

I recently visited the Beamish Museum with my parents and boyfriend and so I thought I'd share the experience! Being a History Student and lover of history I would obviously have a biased (should not say that word as a historian but oh well) and more positive opinion on history museums that the average person. However Beamish is a lot different from the normal, dull, information-overload types you get around Britain.

Beamish is an open-air museum that practices "living history". You can walk around the early 1900's Pit Village, the Edwardian town, the 1940's farm and much much more. In addition there is also trams, buses and trains to get you from one attraction to the next! The staff are all in costume and it's just a really great experience!

My favourite was either the 1940's house and farm (I was taking inspiration for my future house, much to my boyfriends dismay) or the Edwardian town as the Co-op was a really great. I'd recommend this museum to everyone, it's truly an amazing experience and I'd go again for sure!

My Top 3 Rimmel 60 Seconds Rita Ora Nail Polishes

I'm not a huge fan of Rita Ora, nor am I a huge nail person due to me biting whatever grows on my finger tips right off! However I still get excited about bright and colourful nail varnishes so I thought I'd share with you my 3 favourite polishes from this collection.

Austria | Fuschl am See and Mondsee Boat Trip

The last instalment of my Austria posts and the final pictures! On the last day we went up to the top of a mountain that looked upon Salzburg (I can't remember the name, sorry), and then we travelled to Fuschl am See, had a picnic and then went on a boat ride in Mondsee. The weather was glorious as you'll see from the photos!

5 Simple Ways to "Make Yourself Happy"

I was inspired by Helen Melonlady and her video on How to be Happy to make this post. She's always so happy and it's really inspiring to see. I've used my own personal experience and some things that have worked for other people I know.

Second batch of photos from Austria! We went to Mondsee and saw Basilica St. Michael where the wedding in the Sound of Music was filmed and then had a walk around Salzburg and saw Altstadt and the Cathedral.

Austria | Zwölferhorn and St. Gilgen

I went to Salzburg, Austria with my old sixth form recently and here are the pictures from the first few days when we went up Zwölferhorn in a cable-car and then had a walk in St. Gilgen. Austria is such an idyllic and picturesque place!

Vintage C&A Dress - Lou Lou's Vintage Fair

I bought this gorgeous floral C&A dress from Lou Lou's Vintage Fair in Hull a few Saturday's ago for just £5! I'm thinking it would be great for a summer/spring day dress as it's pretty light weight and so colourful. Unfortunately it has a few stains (as the pictures show) on it that I didn't notice in the dim lights of Hull City Hall, however I'm sure they can be removed.Overall I love it and hope to wear it a lot over spring and summer, once I remove those stains!
